HAL4SDV Joins the sdv4(e)u Community to Strengthen European Collaboration on Software-Defined Vehicles
HAL4SDV has joined sdv4(e)u, a cluster and community of practice bringing together EU-funded initiatives working to advance Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs).
Initiated by the Code4EV project, the sdv4(e)u community connects projects and initiatives from across Europe with a shared mission: to foster scientific excellence and maximize the impact of European research and innovation through collaboration, knowledge exchange and joint dissemination activities.
Building Connections Across European SDV Initiatives
Software-Defined Vehicles represent a significant transformation of the automotive industry, requiring advances that span vehicle hardware, software architectures, safety, interoperability and new digital services.
Addressing these challenges benefits from collaboration that goes beyond individual projects. sdv4(e)u provides a platform for EU-funded initiatives to exchange knowledge, identify synergies and increase the collective impact of their work across programmes and beyond individual project lifetimes. The community aims to strengthen the links between research, innovation and real-world impact through activities including joint publications, position papers, business cases, dissemination activities and international outreach.
Its shared platform will also serve as a hub for news, achievements, events and opportunities from across the European SDV community.
HAL4SDV's Contribution to the Community
HAL4SDV is helping shape the next generation of European Software-Defined Vehicles by developing a hardware abstraction layer that enables vehicle software to be configured independently of the underlying hardware.This approach addresses both safety-critical and non-safety-critical applications and supports the development of more flexible, scalable and interoperable software-defined vehicle architectures.
By joining the community, HAL4SDV will contribute its expertise in hardware abstraction and software-defined vehicle architectures while strengthening connections with other European initiatives working toward a more flexible, interoperable and software-driven automotive ecosystem.
